Gold-filled is an actual layer of gold-pressure bonded to another metal.  Gold-filled is not to be confused with gold-plating as filled literally has 100% more gold than gold plating.  Gold-filled is much more valuable and tarnish resistant.  It does not flake off, rub off or turn colors.  As a matter of fact, anyone who can wear gold can wear gold-filled without worries of any allergic reaction to the jewelry.  Gold-filled jewelry is an economical alternative to solid gold!

Recommended Care Tips:

- Avoid contact with household chemicals, lotions, cosmetics, hair products, perfumes, etc. 

- Clean the jewelry by wiping it gently with a soft cloth of jewelry cleansing cloth. Chemical liquid jewelry cleaners ARE NOT recommended for Gold-filled or Gold-plated jewelry. 

- When not wearing, clean the jewelry and store in a cool, dry place - each item separately. 

- Refrain from wearing the shower, jacuzzis or pools. 

For jewelry that is NOT gold-plated/gold-filled/stainless steel/sterling silver (or otherwise NOT noted as tarnish-resistant), to preserve it's life, it is recommended spraying your pieces with Clear Acrylic Gloss spray. This spray can be found at any craft/retail store. Cover any rhinestones/jewels with clear plastic tape prior to spraying to prevent fogginess in stones.
